Running the Fat Off

Posted on Oct 19, 2007 under Training Tips |

Running regularly will turn your muscles into fat burning machines. The muscles will burn fat during the run and for many hours afterward. After 30 minutes of running you will be burning fat as your primary energy source. If you can run 40 minutes or longer, this will greatly increase your fat burning.

A great tip for burning fat is to run an hour or so before you go to bed and don’t eat. Then wake up in the morning and run again. All the calories you burn in the morning will be from fat. Don’t starve yourself though. Eat normal meals during the day, just eat the meals before your night run. Remember, the weight is not going to come off overnight. It is going to take some time and hard work to lose weight.
